Privacy
The short version: we only ask for what we need, we use it to do what you asked, and you can leave whenever you like.
What we collect
- Your first name and email address, when you sign up for M.K.’s letters or ask to be told when a paperback is available.
- For a signed pre-order: your name, your billing and shipping address, your order details and the name you want written in the book (the inscription).
- Your message, if you write to M.K. through the contact form.
- Proof of what you agreed to: when you tick a box to hear from us, we keep the exact words next to it, the time, and the page you were on.
- Visit statistics and email-marketing pixels, only if you allow marketing cookies (see below).
Why we collect it
- To send the emails you asked for: letters, and release alerts.
- If you buy a signed copy, to send you M.K.’s news for up to two years after your purchase, as Canadian law allows. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To take, sign, inscribe and send your signed pre-order, and to tell you about it.
- To reply when you get in touch.
- To see which pages are useful, if you allow marketing cookies.
Every sign-up has its own tick box, and nothing is ticked for you. We don’t sell your details.
Who helps us handle it
- Lumex Solutions Ltd. runs the site’s sign-up and contact forms, the mailing list and emails, and the checkout for signed pre-orders.
- Stripe processes the card payment. Your card details go into a secure payment box and are never stored by us.
These companies handle your details for us, to do the jobs above, under their own privacy policies. Some of them are based outside Canada, so your details may be stored or handled in other countries.
Cookies
A banner asks about cookies on your first visit. Essential cookies keep the site working and are always on. Marketing cookies (visit statistics and email-marketing pixels) are off unless you allow them. You can change your mind at any time.
Unsubscribing and deleting your details
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works with one click. To see what we hold about you, fix it, or have it deleted, write to contact@mklinniko.com and we’ll take care of it. We keep order details only as long as we need them to fulfil your order and keep proper records.
Age
Our sign-up boxes ask you to confirm that you’re 13 or older. If a younger reader has signed up by mistake, write to us and we’ll delete their details.
